INGEGNERIA DELLE TECNOLOGIE PER L'IMPRESA DIGITALE
Lecturers: EMILIANO SISINNI, MARCO BAU', PAOLO BELLAGENTE

The course is aimed at students who approach the fundamentals of electronics and microprocessor systems, with particular attention to embedded systems. After this course the student will be able to understand the characteristics of a (simple) analog and digital electronic system.

As regards the electronic devices, the topics covered are:
- Analog signals and circuits and general concepts on amplification
- PN-junction diodes
- Bipolar junction transistors (BJT)
- Field-effect transistors (FET)
- Operational and instrumentation amplifiers
- Comparators

As regards electronic systems, the topics covered are:
- analog vs digital systems; boolean algebra; combinatorial and sequential functions
- numbering systems
- combinatorial logic design
- sequential logic design
- analysis and synthesis of complex subsystems (counters, adders, arithmetic units, memories ...)
- introduction to microprocessor architecture (with particular attention to ARM architecture)
